Places to Eat: Ben's Lunchroom

Ben's Lunchroom is a small diner located on the Chatham side of the river at 1724 Water St. The restaurant started 77 years ago and has been a staple in the community ever since. Three years ago the original building was torn down, and they relocated.

                                                             Ben's Lunchroom.

Ben's was made famous for their old-fashioned hamburgers and cheeseburgers, commonly referred to as "sliders". Mounted behind the counter is a shelf containing several pictures of well-known people who stopped in the restaurant in the past, including Brian Mulroney.

                                                          Ben's cheeseburger and fries.

                                                                  Ben's hot dog.

The restaurant has 50's themed decor in a red, black and white colour palette. They have tables in a small eating area as well as bar stools along the main counter. They stick true to the old-fashioned theme by sticking with the pre-debit and credit card payment options.
