The festival kicked off Thursday night with opening ceremonies and the street dance on the Waterfront in Newcastle, and the Canada Day/Rock 'N' Roll Festival fireworks display.

Saturday there was a Pro Wrestling in the big tent for a $5 admission, as well as adult dances Friday and Saturday night for $10 admission. Saturday was also the day of the Golden Oldie Cruise Around the River, where owners took a spin in their cars through Newcastle and Chatham for everyone to get a good look at their hard work.

Sunday had an afternoon filled with games for children, live entertainment and the 21st Annual Goodie Shop Restaurant Golden Oldie Car Show with all the classic cars on display for admirers to see.
